A Global Art Exhibition Opens Paris Haute Couture Week

During the height of Paris Haute Couture Week, one of the city’s most prestigious cultural venues, La Maison de l’Amérique Latine, opened its doors to an international audience for the inauguration of “La créativité sans limites” / “Creativity Without Borders”, a global contemporary art exhibition celebrating artistic expression beyond geographic and creative boundaries.

Held at the historic mansion on Boulevard Saint-Germain, the exhibition transformed the elegant halls of the institution into a vibrant dialogue between contemporary visual art, fashion photography, and cross-cultural creativity, positioning the event at the intersection of fine art and the fashion world during one of Paris’ most influential cultural weeks.

A Historic Parisian Setting for Global Contemporary Art

Located in the heart of Paris’ prestigious 7th arrondissementLa Maison de l’Amérique Latine has long served as a center for cultural, diplomatic, and artistic exchange. Founded in 1946, the institution is housed in two 18th-century hôtels particuliers, offering a refined architectural backdrop that seamlessly bridges tradition and modern creativity.

The venue’s historic salons provided an evocative contrast to the contemporary works on display, reinforcing the exhibition’s central theme: creativity without borders, where heritage meets innovation and global perspectives coexist.

Curatorial Vision: Art Beyond Borders

The exhibition was curated by Anna Sashina, who welcomed artists and guests from across Europe, the United States, Africa, and beyond.

“Today, we celebrate creativity in its purest form — where culture, fashion, and artistic vision converge,” Sashina said during the opening. “Our goal is to introduce audiences to artists whose work transcends borders and speaks to the shared human experience.”

Her curatorial approach emphasized dialogue between disciplines, positioning fashion photography, contemporary painting, experimental materials, and emotional abstraction within a single cohesive narrative.

Featured International Artists

“Creativity Without Borders” presented a carefully curated selection of international artists, each contributing a distinct perspective on the exhibition’s theme:

  • Victoria Shchelkunova — A fashion photographer based in Moldova, known for her collaborations with numerous fashion brands. Her work positions fashion as a medium for personal identity, emotion, and self-expression.
  • Dana Ozova — A Ukrainian fashion artist whose work blurs the line between fine art and fashion, treating fashion not as an object, but as a visual language built on color, movement, and texture.
  • Natalia Sviderskaya — An Italy-based artist and designer of the women’s footwear brand Caleste, recognized for her self-defined style of “Emotional Impressionism,” which bridges classical techniques with contemporary artistic sensibilities.
  • Sergio Durante — An Italy-based artist exploring the expressive potential of recycled carbon fiber, a material traditionally associated with aerospace and motorsport, reimagined here as a medium for fine art.
  • Arthur Midianga — A Kenyan-American expressionist artist based in Brooklyn, New York, whose work connects historical memory with contemporary forms. His exhibitions span major cultural hubs including New York, Barcelona, Miami, Kansas City, and Paris.
  • Karinne Grimaud — A French contemporary abstract painter with an extensive international exhibition history, whose work emphasizes emotional resonance as the foundation of abstract expression.
  • Denis Popoff — A Swiss-based photographer whose powerful imagery focuses on the human form, as well as stage and backstage narratives. His work has been widely exhibited across Europe and presented at Art Basel.

A Cross-Cultural Opening Reception

The opening reception drew an international audience of art collectors, fashion insiders, curators, creatives, and cultural tastemakers, reflecting the exhibition’s global scope. Conversations flowed easily between disciplines, reinforcing the show’s mission to foster dialogue across cultures and creative practices.

“We are honored to host such a diverse group of creators whose voices and visions defy geographic and disciplinary limits,” Sashina added. “This exhibition not only highlights extraordinary individual talent, but also encourages dialogue and understanding through art.”

Art, Fashion, and Cultural Exchange

Presented during Paris Haute Couture Week, “La créativité sans limites” naturally resonated with the fashion world, attracting industry professionals interested in the evolving relationship between visual art and fashion imagery. The exhibition underscored how contemporary art increasingly informs fashion aesthetics, editorial storytelling, and visual identity on a global scale.

Visitors were given a rare opportunity to engage directly with the artists, gaining insight into their creative processes, materials, and artistic philosophies — an experience that elevated the exhibition beyond a traditional gallery presentation.
