DOUBLET FW 2025: A Bold Statement Against Perfection

How DOUBLET Turned Flaws into High Fashion at Paris Fashion Week

DOUBLET’s Vision: Finding Strength in Flaws

On Sunday, January 26th, DOUBLET @doublet showcased its Fall/Winter 2025 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Masayuki Ino is the designer behind the genderless streetwear label Doublet. The show delivered a mix of bold ideas and wearable fashion. This collection, which is known for celebrating imperfections and questioning societal norms, was for us a poetic reminder of the beauty that can emerge from imperfections.

The DOUBLET DNA: Where Playfulness Meets Provocation

Since its launch in 2012, DOUBLET has stood out for combining humor with serious messages about society. Masayuki Ino, who won the LVMH Prize in 2018, has made it his mission to challenge traditional ideas of fashion. His designs blur the line between art and function, bringing together streetwear vibes with thought-provoking storytelling.

For Fall/Winter 2025, Ino stayed true to his signature style—turning what’s often rejected into something extraordinary. The collection took inspiration from a bent plastic sheet, a symbol of imperfection, to share a story about embracing life’s cracks, both literal and metaphorical.

A Show That Embraced the “Villain”

The runway show began with an unforgettable scene: models on the runway were illuminated by fractured, cracked-like patterns, emphasizing the theme of brokenness. The message was clear—flaws aren’t failures. These are opportunities.

Some key highlights from the collection included:

  • Innovative Fabrics: Materials that resembled bent plastic sheets were transformed into sleek and wearable pieces. Some fabrics even had practical features like insect repellents, showing how imperfections can offer unexpected benefits.
  • Avant-Garde Silhouettes:Oversized coats, asymmetrical designs, and experimental tailoring ruled the runway, breaking away from traditional fashion standards.
  • Unusual Accessories: Models carried bags and jewelry designed to look like “broken” objects, celebrating destruction as art.

Masayuki Ino’s genius is in his ability to turn abstract ideas into fashion people can connect with. His work goes beyond just designing clothes—it’s about telling relatable, emotional stories.

Finding Beauty in the Cracks

This collection pushed back against rigid ideas of “perfection.” A press release asked, “What is this thing called righteousness?” challenging people to rethink how they view value and worth.

“When something bends, tiny cracks form, creating space for something new to grow,” Ino said. This isn’t just about fashion—it’s a philosophy that invites us to see our personal and societal flaws as opportunities for growth and creativity.

Why DOUBLET Matters in the Fashion Industry

Masayuki Ino’s work isn’t just about making clothes—it’s about changing how we think. Here’s why DOUBLET stands out:

  • Pushes Boundaries: From redefining tailoring to creating multifunctional materials, DOUBLET keeps challenging the status quo.
  • Speaks to the Underdog: By embracing the ignored or imperfect, the brand celebrates individuality and authenticity.
  • Making Art Wearable: DOUBLET balances bold, conceptual designs with practicality, making high-fashion accessible and meaningful to everyone.

DOUBLET redefines the concept of perfection in fashion.
