Tori Spelling on Life After Dean McDermott: “He’s Still One of My Biggest Supporters”

In a candid moment at the Gala of the Stars event in Los Angeles, Tori Spelling provided a refreshing update on her relationship with her estranged husband, Dean McDermott. Contrary to the typical Hollywood narrative of messy divorces, the Beverly Hills 90210 alum emphasized that their split has been anything but dramatic.

“We’re really amicable,” Spelling shared exclusively with PEOPLE. “In Hollywood, divorces are often depicted as ugly, but ours is not. We co-parent really well, we’re good friends, and he’s still one of my biggest supporters.”

The couple, who share five children together, continue to prioritize their roles as parents despite Spelling filing for divorce earlier this year. The actress, 51, and McDermott, 57, officially separated on June 17, 2023, with Spelling citing irreconcilable differences in the court documents.

Their ability to maintain a peaceful and supportive relationship speaks volumes, especially in the glare of the public eye. It’s a refreshing twist in the often tumultuous tales of celebrity divorces, and a testament to their dedication to family and friendship.
