Duran Lantink Pushes the Boundaries of Fashion and Wearability at Paris Fashion Week SS25

Duran Lantink’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection at Paris Fashion Week exudes playful irreverence while exploring the boundaries of sculptural fashion and wearability. After recently winning the LVMH Karl Lagerfeld prize, Lantink brought forth 46 looks that merge the avant-garde with practicality. Bold bustlines took center stage, with padded bras reimagined into exaggerated, conical shapes that draw the eye. Hips and joints were accentuated with sleek leggings and bodysuits, offering more subtle nods to volume and form.

The collection also played with the dualities of fashion, balancing high-impact designs like drop-waist trousers with sewn-in briefs and gauzy tunic dresses layered over biker shorts. Reminiscent of Ibiza’s 1980s rave scene, the pieces embraced a sense of freedom and fun, underscored by jewelry sourced from Carla Sozzani’s archive.

In true Lantink fashion, the show featured moments of surprise and delight. Midway through, a dress embedded with a live-streaming screen reflected the audience back at themselves, merging tech and fashion in an unexpected way. And in a show-stopping finale, Naomi Campbell graced the runway in a bias-cut gown with an illusion neckline, continuing the label’s trend of floating, fluid pieces.

It was a collection that celebrated both the structure and whimsy of getting dressed, underscored by Lantink’s signature three-dimensional approach and his growing influence on the global fashion stage.
