Pamela Anderson Reflects on Her Makeup-Free Journey: “I Just Wanted to Be Me”

The actress reveals why she stepped away from makeup and embraced authenticity.

Pamela Anderson @pamelaanderson, the iconic star of Baywatch and newly nominated Golden Globe actress, has sparked a cultural conversation by embracing a makeup-free lifestyle. Speaking candidly to Entertainment Tonight, Anderson, 57, revealed that this bold choice initially began as an “experiment” but has since evolved into a powerful statement of self-discovery.

“This whole peeling it back was kind of how I just started,” Anderson shared while promoting her new film, The Last Showgirl. “I just wanted to remember who I was. I’ve been playing characters my whole life—I want to play characters in movies, not in my personal life.”

Anderson’s first public step in this transformation came during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023, where her makeup-free appearance became a viral sensation. The actress said she never anticipated the overwhelming response to her natural look, adding, “It’s just something I feel drawn to do—I didn’t even think anyone would notice!”

Her decision is a refreshing shift in an era often dominated by filters and contouring. By embracing her natural beauty, Anderson sends a strong message of authenticity, reminding us all that confidence begins with being unapologetically yourself.
