Heartbreak in LA: Miley Recalls Her 2018 Fire Loss

Miley Cyrus Reflects on LA Wildfires, Recalls 2018 Home Loss in Heartbreaking Instagram Post

A City on Fire and a Heart in Pain

Miley Cyrus @mileycyrus, 32, is no stranger to tragedy when it comes to California wildfires. Over the weekend, the singer opened up on Instagram about the emotional toll that new blazes in Los Angeles are taking on her. In a deeply personal post, Cyrus recalled the 2018 Woolsey Fire that completely wrecked her home, expressing that her “soul aches” for everyone facing the devastation once again.

The Devastating 2018 Woolsey Fire

Back in 2018, the Woolsey Fire left a trail of destruction across Southern California, claiming homes and displacing families—including Miley’s own. Sharing an image of her charred front porch, adorned with cushions spelling “LOVE,” Cyrus admitted the feeling of coming home to “ash and rubble” was something she could never forget. It’s a memory that still resonates strongly as current fires scorch parts of LA.

Miley Cyrus’ Emotional Instagram Message

In her Instagram message, the “Flowers” singer expressed her grief over seeing Los Angeles, a city often associated with dreams, destroyed by flames. Cyrus invited followers to help with relief efforts by offering links to front-line groups, including as the Malibu Foundation, which she cofounded.

“Time, resources, and dedication from inside and outside of our community will heal us,” she told us, “but it hurts deeply for now.”
Stand Strong: Community and Hope

Despite the tragedy, Cyrus’s overall message is one of optimism and unity. By sharing her own story and asking others to donate, the singer emphasizes the necessity of banding together during difficult times.

Her post was published on both The Miley Cyrus Foundation’s Instagram feed and her own Instagram Stories, showing how deeply she feels compelled to assist her beloved city rebuild.

How to Help Others

Cyrus encourages that folks who want to make a difference donate to local charities and foundations like the Malibu Foundation. Donations of time and resources might provide immediate aid to people who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to the persistent flames.
